THE CHALLENGE

Andrew Stein the CEO of PayReq had been interested in developing further uses for BPAY View - a platform that allows visibility of bills in internet banking interfaces. However, the tech-heavy nature of the software meant that it was unable to be used by SMEs who didn’t have the in-house technical support to manage such a platform.

Andrew identified the potential for smaller organisations, like local councils, to send bills through a platform similar to BPAY View.

THE SOLUTION

Our team built a seamless interface which allows visibility of bills from smaller organisations, like local councils, to send bills through a platform like BPAY View. Clojure was used for efficiency and cost effectiveness. The team built the technology on open source software.

THE OUTCOME

Instead of pitching a concept, the client was able to present a live, fully functioning software in his business development meetings with prospects. The project was completed early and within budget. Argenti still manages the platform for all clients.

“The initial pilot developed by Argenti for Hornsby council was so successful that dozens of local councils now use Payreq — it has become the new industry standard”
